Verzuz delivered a night for the Queens with their latest “battle”. It was a star studded affair, live from Los Angeles with music legends Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills. It’s a battle fans have been clamoring for. Stephanie even mentioned trying to set it up months ago in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club. It’s finally here: Chaka Khan vs Stephanie Mills.
Chaka Khan has given us hits like “I’m Every Woman”, “I Feel For You”, and “Through The Fire” among many others, over the course of 13 solo albums. She also released music as Rufus and with Rufus, spawning hits like “Ain’t Nobody” and “Tell Me Something Good”. She’s worked with everyone from Ray Charles to Gladys Knight to Mary J. Blige to Brandy. That’s why she’s known as the Queen of Funk!
Bedstuy, Brooklyn’s own, Stephanie Mills is a legend in her own right. The sweet soulful voice has carried her over 15 solo albums. Her hits include “I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love”, “I Feel Good All Over”, “(You’re Puttin’) A Rush on Me”, “Something in the Way (You Make Me Feel)” and “Never Knew Love Like This Before”.

The Verzuz was supposed to start at 8:00pm EST, but had a last minute change to start at 9:00 EST. However, there was also a DJ battle, so Chaka and Sephanie didn’t come out to about 9:55 EST, or 6:55 in L.A. where the show was taped live.
