Is Migos over? The saga continues for the once-trap trio, as Quavo has supplied limpid clarification regarding the celebrated Hip-Hop group’s future in the aftermath of Takeoff’s murder.
On Wednesday (February 22), Quavo dropped a new track named “Greatness” in which he sheds pain about his nephew’s (Takeoff) demise while simultaneously commemorating the Migos‘ pioneering moves in the Hip-Hop genre.
Over DJ Durel’s horn-spiced beat, Quavo spits: “Never forget that the Migos amazin’/ Look at the ice and the knots in my pants, you know that them young n-ggas made it.”
In the newly-released video for “Greatness,” Quavo sits in front of a TV and views throwback footage of him and Takeoff, while also showing off his expensive cars and jewelry at his mansion.
“I couldn’t do it without the greatest group in the world … I couldn’t do it without the greatest nephew in the world,” Quavo acknowledged in the outro of the song.
Is Migos Over?! Quavo Is Finally Speaking Out About It
For fans holding their breath for a Migos reunion, Quavo essentially says you can finally exhale because it’s highly unlikely.
“Came in, swept the game like a storm with the muthafcking flow, ngga, Take did that/ So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n*gga it can’t come back, damn!”
In May 2022, hearsay of the Migos disbanding began to circulate on the web after Offset and Cardi B (his wife) unfollowed Takeoff and Quavo on social media.
In October 2022, Quavo hinted at why the Migos were enduring turmoil and it primarily had to do with Offset allegedly being unfaithful to the group.
Huncho said: “We stand on real deal loyalty, and sometimes that sht ain’t displayed. This ain’t got nothing to do with no label, no paperwork, no [Quality Control Music], nothing. This got something to do with the three brothers. And sht, it is what it is. Right now, we gon’ be the duo ’til time tell.”
