Actor Jussie Smollett’s assaulters are back in the spotlight again. For a Fox Nation documentary on the ‘attack’, the brothers who assisted Smollett in (allegedly) staging the notorious hate crime hoax recreated the situation.
Smollett, a former actor in Empire, asserted in 2019 that he was bum-rushed early one morning in Chicago by two men. The trouper claimed that the assailants attempted to throw a noose around his neck and pour bleach down his esophagus. Additionally, he said they represented “MAGA nation” and hurled crude comments at him.
The plot swiftly unraveled, and Abel and Ola Osundairo soon came forward to admit they had been supposedly hired by Smollett to assist in staging the incident. Smollett was found guilty of five felonies in 2021.
In Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax, the Osundairo brothers explained that they viewed Smollett as a “fraudster” after he denied setting up the ambush to the media.

Abel Osundairo remarked, “I thought [Smollett] was a good actor, but I also thought this guy’s a fraud. This guy is really just sitting here, just lying to these people. Lying through his teeth, and not caring. I think he shed a tear.”
The brothers claimed that Smollett never made it clear why he did what he did, but Ola Osundairo hypothesized that he wanted to serve as a “poster boy for activism.” “He wanted to be the hero for gay people, for black people,” claimed Ola.

Ola and Abel’s actual return to the scene of the “crime” and recreation of what happened there, according to them, down to a hot sauce jar bearing bleach and “noogies,” may be the most spellbinding part of Fox Nation’s docuseries.
The siblings reenacted waiting for the Empire actor and approaching him while screaming homophobic and racial epithets. The brothers said that Smollett wanted it to appear as though the victim of the incident had retaliated.
