The upcoming formal body of work by Cardi B was recently discussed — and she said any/all potential collaborations are on pause until she’s done doing her.
The Love & Hip Hop star provided an update on the forthcoming sophomore album during a cover story interview with the Mexican edition of Vogue.
“I won’t be releasing any more joint projects; instead, I’ll be releasing my next single by myself. I’m now working on the ideas and cover art for the upcoming album because it will undoubtedly be released soon,” Cardi furthered in Spanish.
Over the past two years, Cardi B has had a strong run of successful collaborations.
She co-wrote memorable verses for songs by Offset (“Jealousy”), GloRilla (“Tomorrow 2”), Kay Flock (“Shake It”), FendiDa Rappa (“Point Me 2”), and Latto (“Put It on da Floor Again”).
Cardi B Collaborations Have To Wait
The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker professed, “Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now, they did when I released ‘Wap’ [with Megan Thee Stallion] and when I released ‘Up,’ but I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles.”
Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy L.P. from 2018 set records and spawned Diamond-certified hits, but her second studio album has been in the works for five years.

Cardi hasn’t put out a solo track in two years. In February 2021, “Up” was released. On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the song peaked at No. 1. “Up” was given a 2x-Platinum certification by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
“So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon,” the Bronx native expressed. “I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do everything I can: fashion, branding, I want to do it all, honey.”
