Megan Thee Stallion recently released a new music video titled “Cobra” with lyrics that have caused fans to respond to her ex-boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine aka Pardi cheating allegations.

Meg and Pardi were once a match made in heaven, at least that’s what fans thought before the couple split. While both have been quiet about the reasons behind their breakup, Meg finally gave insight with her song, “Cobra”. Meg rapped the following lyrics: “Pulled up, caught him cheatin’, gettin’ his d*ck sucked in the same spot I’m sleeping.” Fans have immediately taken to social media to call out Pardi over potentially cheating on Meg thee Stallion:

I knew Pardi didn’t stand on business when rappers half his height and weight was clowning Megan for being shot and not one swing was swung.

Besides the Pardi cheating allegations, Meg also explains how she dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts. Many fans identified with her vulnerability, especially Black women, who have felt that they’ve been told to always be strong in the midst of their struggles. For example, a writer from PopSugar mentioned:

As a Black woman who has struggled with depression, self-harm, and suicidal ideations at various points throughout my life, hearing Meg rap, “How can somebody so blessed wanna slit they wrist?” made me feel seen and understood on a soul level. As a child growing up in the Black community, I, like many others, was taught to be grateful for my blessings and not complain about my losses. Although the sentiment behind this mindset is admirable, in reality, we learn to suppress our feelings and only focus on achieving our next success. And when we are honest about how we feel, we’re told to be strong and just keep going.

Meg is no stranger to talking about depression and mental health challenges. Megan Thee Stallion teamed up with ‘Seize the Awkward’ to encourage mental health awareness and used her song “Anxiety” from her album “Traumazine” to confide in her fans about the toll stress and trauma have taken on her mental health. Whether you heard about the song online from fans talking about Pardi’s cheating allegations or from fans talking about the Houston Hottie’s candidness about her depression, the song “Cobra” is making a huge impact and fans are really here for their fav, Meg thee Stallion.
