Hairfinity recently co-hosted an event in Brooklyn with beauty blogger, Antonia of Un-Ruly.com. The theme perceptions of beauty around the world. “Pretty” is a documentary series exploring different ideas of beauty across the globe.
The conversation largely centered around media representation of Black women and in addition to acknowledging the current issues, some interesting solutions were proposed like the possibility of more blacks in entertainment turning down jobs that don’t represent blacks well, or black people creating more of their own platforms.
