On Febuary 19, 2016 the performance of The Weeknd and Ms Lauryn Hill was much talked about and highly anticipated and ended up actually happening on stage during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Weeknd was there to perform his latest single during that time, “In the Night,” which was the same song he performed on The Grammy Awards show in 2016. Midway through the performance, he introduced Ms. Lauryn Hill to continue the song with him. The duet went off flawlessly after fans were teased with the idea of it days earlier.
As has been reported, Lauryn Hill rehearsed with The Weeknd for the Award show performance, but backed out at the last minute citing lack of preparation time and schedule conflicts. Though during the Grammys it was supposed to be a surprise collaboration, but their appearances on The Tonight Show was even more unexpected, considering how things have progressed that week.
