Jordan Peele and Misha Green Set To Bring Lovecraft Country Series To HBO
Jordan Peele, writer-director of the 2017 horror film, Get Out, is joining forces with WGN’s Underground creator, Misha Green, to bring forth a one-hour HBO drama series. The forthcoming series will be based on the 2016 novel, Lovecraft Country, written by Matt Ruff. Peele will executive produce, along with Green acting as the writer of the Lovecraft Country series.
The acclaimed novel tells the story of 25-year-old Atticus Black and his search across the 1950s ‘Jim Crow America’ to find his missing father. Teaming up with his friend, Leticia, and Uncle George for the road trip, the three began to endure the struggles of surviving and overcoming both the racist terrors of white America and the malicious spirits that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
According to Deadline, Peele and Green are aiming to deliver an ‘anthological horror series that reclaims genre storytelling from the African-American perspective.’
No date has been set as to when this project will come to fruition. However, greatness takes time, and, with these two on board, we could never expect less. Congratulations to them both on their newest TV endeavor!
Will you be tuning in?
