James “JG” Guyton, Khalid “Kay” Barnes and Larnell “Neezy” Anderson are a talented trio who have found a bond with each other through music and spirituality.  With individual stories all entrenched with hardship and overcoming their past, their music is a therapeutic blend of inspiration, unique individuality and a breath of fresh air.  Rooted in their love for Christ and dripping with Denver, Colorado swag, these guys collectively go by their moniker King James III.

Founded by JG, the visionary Capricorn is a Sacramento native, born in Des Moines, IA, and a Denver transplant.  He created the group originally to go by the name Christ Gang before rebranding as King James III.  Under his NMG Productions brand the group hopes to break out to the type of success seen by many Christian rap acts in recent years.  With each individual talented in their own right, there’s no telling how far these guys can go.

The first official release from King James III is the single “Heard About Me”, a rhythmic and uptempo banger.  The catchy track balances a heavy bass line and an unexpected delivery.  It serves as a formal introduction to group and the visual finds them in the studio, very much in the actual process of creating the song.

The story of King James III and their individual triumphs is what really helps this group stand out.  Loss, pain, all too many trials and tribulations have all been unfortunate themes for the lives of all these men.  JG lost both his parents.  Kay lost his father and had to overcome the street and gang life before he could find God and his true calling. Neezy on the other hand, is a product of the Denver Foster Care system, a rough journey for any child.  So the fact that they found each other, created a genuine bond through music and are pursing their dreams, while keeping their spirituality first, makes them a story worth spotlighting.  Quality music is the added blessing.

Next up for King James III is their five song EP, Mistaken.  “Heard About Me” is just the appetizer for what looks to be a filling project for listeners and new fans.
