Rap legend Snoop Dogg continues to make his impact on the culture. His latest move finds him partnering up with Je’caryous Johnson with a new stage musical titled the Redemption of a Dogg, which is also going to be Snoop’s theatrical debut. This news is huge because of the 25th anniversary of Snoop Dogg doggystyle classic debut album.
Snoop shared the big news on Twiiter by tweeting “I partnered up with my guy Je’caryous to bring you Redemption of a Dogg, the live play. We going on tour and joined by the wonderful Tamar Braxton we’re hitting a city near you this fall! Tickets on sell tomorrow don’t miss out!” The aforementioned singer Tamar Braxton shared the news on her on social media platform by going to Instagram and telling fans “so me and my uncle Snoop Dogg is going to be on tour singing, acting, rapping and being who are, sick.”
The play will be written, directed, and produced by Je’caryous Johnson, and the award winning playwright could not believe he was giving a chance to work with someone like Snoop and said the idea of that made him “speechless.” The play goes into the ins and outs of Snoop Dogg’s life dealing with the money and fame, but also his struggle with the balance of being a self proclaimed gangster rapper and family man with his wife and kids.
Snoop has been one of the most talented artists the game has even seen and we need to appreciate greatness when we have it instead of waiting for these people to die for us to do so.
