Rapper Mac Miller Has Passed Away at the Age of 26

No one would’ve ever imagined that Pittsburgh-grown rapper Mac Miller‘s last Instagram post would be made during the final hours of his life. According to TMZ, the Blue Slide Park lyricist has passed away at the young age of 26. Mac Miller was reportedly discovered unresponsive at his home in San Fernando Valley, California around noon today.

Sources close to law enforcement told the celebrity gossip blog that authorities were notified by a male friend, who made a call to 911 from Mac Miller’s home. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was apparently ruled as an overdose.

The heartbreaking news comes less than two months after the release of his fifth studio album, Swimming.

Although Miller seemed to have found solace in his music, it’s no secret that substance abuse was still very prominent in his life throughout the years, and it even affected his career. Previously, he admitted to becoming addicted to a combination of promethazine and codeine, known as “purple drank” or “lean.” He allegedly began using both drugs to manage his stress level during his 2012 Macadelic Tour.

However, the usage continued.

In May of this year, Miller was arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges, which came shortly after he crashed his G-wagon into a power pole and fled the site of the accident.

As of now, any further details regarding the sudden death of Mac Miller are unknown and still developing.

The world has suffered yet another great loss.

Rest in peace, Larry Fisherman, better known as Mac Miller.
