[FIRST LOOK] Hobbs and Shaw, Fast & Furious Spin Off Is Coming

The Fast & Furious series is coming out with something new, this time straying from the original cast and story line, instead focusing on a spin off titled, Hobbs and Shaw.  The Fast & Furious spinoff stars Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) and Jason Statham. Other cast members in the movie will be Idris Elba, Roman Reigns, Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren.

Hobbs and Shaw hits theaters on August 2nd.

Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is a federal agent who was at odds with Shaw because Hobbs put Shaw in prison in Furious 7. Jason Statham is the man playing Deckard Shaw who was a former British Special Forces butcher, who was sent to the prison by Hobbs.

The film features an awkward alliance between Shaw and Hobbs because of the major threat of Brixton Lore (Idris Elba), who is the leader of an international terrorist organization. The movie is sure to be filled with a lot of fighting and I’m sure fans can expect to see a fair share of car chases.

Eiza Gonzalez will play a character named Madam M, while Vanessa Kirby will be the sister of Deckard Shaw named Hattie.

The official trailer premiered during Super Bowl weekend this year.  Idris Elba dominates the trailer, introducing his character as the villain.

The film is directed by the talented David Leitch who also directed Deadpool 2, which came out at this exact time in 2018.
