Many thought Lupe Fiasco wouldn’t be releasing any new material this year. Since the artist himself took to Twitter to say so. “It’s a strong chance you wont get any new Lupe albums this year,” he wrote. “Sorry y’all. I tried 2 make it happen but best laid plans make a mess made.”
Despite that, fans will be hearing a new album – DROGAS Light – and it’s finally here. The follow up to 2015’s Tetsuo & Youth. This project is just the first of three that Fiasco plans to release, which clearly means he hasn’t officially retired yet.
“While DROGAS Light signifies the beginning of the end for Fiasco, it represents how far he’s come since he first entered the game and merely accents the intellectual breadth of the discography he’ll leave behind,” according to Fiasco’s reps.
