The family of the late rapper Mac Miller have released a posthumous album from the late rapper, filled with all new singles. The Mac Miller Circles album was released on January 17th on Warner Records and will be the final release from Miller.
The first single off the album is titled “Good News”, which was released this past week along with a visual for the song. The video captures moments of Miller’s wonderful career before it got cut short.
Mac Miller was well respected among his peers and was one of the biggest names in Hip-Hop at the time of his passing. He worked with legendary artists and legendary producers. Mac’s death hit a lot of people because his music touched a lot of people and those who were around him personally would say he was a good person as well.
The Mac Miller Circles album was a project that the rapper had been an album that Mac Miller was working on with producer Jon Brion before he passed. Miller was coming off his 2018 album Swimming, which was nominated for a Grammy.
The finds Miller further realizing his singing voice in addition to rapping, live instrumentation and earnest, confessional lyrical content. Listeners will hear shades of some of Circles’ influences in its songs, from the T-Rex guitar tone of “Surf” to the Plastic Ono Band-era John Lennon feel of its production and the inspired cover of Arthur Lee’s 1972 single “Everybody’s Gotta Live.”
Fans will get a chance to celebrate Miller’s career and catalog at some events in New York, Los Angeles, and his hometown Pittsburgh of course. Make sure you show up so you won’t miss a chance on celebrating the life of Miller and also listen to the new music on the Circles album.
