Anxiety is one of the most common mental health conditions. The statistics say that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year, which means it is very likely that you know someone who has experienced anxiety, even if you do not know they have. It has a significant effect on a person’s day-to-day mental health and in some cases can be extremely debilitating. Fortunately for many, there is CBD help with anxiety and depression.

There are many ways to treat depression or anxiety, including top-rated depression recovery programs, different types of therapy (e.g. psychotherapy or cognitive behavioral therapy) or using anti-anxiety medications. Many people do not seek help as they do not want to feel dependent on medication to feel well. While this is not necessarily the outcome of anti-anxiety meds, there are a number of alternative solutions to help with day-to-day struggles with anxiety, for example, CBD products.

CBD: How does it work?

CBD is a natural remedy; it is one of the cannabinoids found in the marijuana plant. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the main psychoactive ingredient that makes one feel ‘high’. CBD does not have those same properties. Instead, CBD enables people to alleviate symptoms of pain and anxiety without the worry of the mind-altering state that THC causes.

CBD works by influencing brain activity through interacting with receptors and neurons. The body produces naturally occurring cannabinoids known as endocannabinoids which CBD reacts with. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the body is involved in regulating a variety of functions such as sleep, appetite, pain, and the immune system. When CBD interacts with the body’s ECS it may impact how people feel certain things, for example chronic pain or worry, because it helps reduce inflammation and interacts with neurotransmitters.

Furthermore, studies report that CBD has the ability to affect the body’s serotonin system by directly activating serotonin receptors in the brain. These receptors have an influence over a number of responses in the body such as anxiety, appetite, sleep, memory and mood. This interaction may account for the anti-anxiety properties of CBD products.

Ways to take CBD

There are many ways to introduce CBD into the body and a variety of products to choose from. From gummies to tinctures, there is something to suit everyone’s needs. CBD Oracle has a wonderful collection of the highest quality CBD products. Many anxiety sufferers would recommend an oil tincture, which you can pipette under the tongue, or CBD gummies which once digested will slowly release into your bloodstream. Taking CBD orally is one of the most efficient ways to feel its effects. It can also be taken with food or drink to mask its taste, however, gummies usually taste delicious.

For those suffering from anxiety, it is worth taking CBD once a day for a week or two to see its effects. Studies have shown that after 3 weeks people had noticeable improvements to their quality of life. Many people have reported that physical anxiety responses seem to lessen after taking CBD, as well as remarking on the improvement of their day-to-day functions.
