In 2001, Johnson and his team sold BET for $3 million dollars which made him the first African American billionaire.
Viacom became the owners of BET but kept its original name.
Now, we are proud to say that Tyler Perry is the official owner of not only BET but also BET+ and VH1.
Which makes him the first African American to own two major networks.
Tyler Perry has blessed us with many movies, shows and you can’t forget his plays. He is now blessing us by taking back what is ours.
