Kodak Black has collaborated with a lot of big names in the game — however, there’s a Pop star out there that the rapper has on his bucket list.
The “Senseless” hitmaker has collaborated with an abundance of famous rappers, including Yo Gotti and French Montana, and he now wants to dip his toe in the Pop lake. Kodak recently disclosed his deep desire to collaborate with pop sensation Katy Perry.
On Thursday, July 14, a video of Yak being interviewed at Rolling Loud appeared on social media.
Kodak was questioned by the cameraman about potential future non-rap partnerships. He then brightened and expressed his desire to hop on a record with Katy Perry.
“Me and Katy Perry we are on the same label. Hopefully, me and Katy Perry could do some stuff,” the Florida native expressed. “I’m a nice ghostwriter, too. I could make some good pop music.”
Kodak Black Calls For Katy Perry
If you weren’t aware, Kodak Black signed with Capitol Records, which is also Perry’s label, after cutting ties with Atlantic Records in 2022.
Although it’s too soon to say for sure, a collab between the two artists is certainly a possibility.
Kodak also mentioned that he and Ed Sheeran had written a song together, but it hadn’t been released and there was a good reason. According to reports, Kodak will drop the track without Sheeran so that listeners can hear him performing on the song by himself. After that, he will re-release it, perhaps with the singer on it.

When Kodak was an artist on Atlantic Records (Sheeran’s label as well), the “Bad Habits” singer and Black collaborated on the song last year.
In 2022, the “Calling My Spirit” rapper acknowledged working with the celebrated guitarist via Twitter.
“I Got A Song Wit Ed Sheeran & Other Elite Artists I Snapped Within a Year. My Song With Ed Sheeran So Fye I’m Tryna Decide Should I Put It On This Album Or My Album In August,” tweeted Kodak.
