In the ongoing YSL RICO trial involving Young Thug, a surprising twist has emerged as Lil Wayne may soon find himself entangled in the legal proceedings and could potentially have to testify in court, adding a layer of complexity to an already intense legal battle.
Reports have surfaced indicating that Fulton County prosecutors sought to introduce videos of Lil Wayne discussing Young Thug during Wednesday’s court session. However, Judge Ural Glanville opted to withhold these exhibits unless Lil Wayne himself took the stand to testify.
The judge’s stance was clear: if prosecutors chose not to call Lil Wayne as a witness, their attempts to introduce the videos would be futile. This decision underscored the significance of Lil Wayne’s potential testimony and its impact on the trial’s trajectory.
At the heart of the prosecution’s strategy lies the 2015 tour bus shooting, a pivotal event linked to Young Thug’s legal woes. Allegations suggest that Thug enlisted PeeWee Roscoe, an affiliate, to carry out the shooting.
Although Roscoe faced sentencing and conviction in connection to the incident, his conviction was overturned in 2018, casting uncertainty over the case.
WHether Lil Wayne will make an appearance in court and testify remains uncertain but we know his testimony will play a part in the YSL Rico trial.
Another key figure close to Lil Wayne, Alvin Lewis, the driver of Wayne’s tour bus during the shooting, is slated to testify on May 6. Lewis had previously filed a lawsuit against Young Thug, Birdman, and Roscoe following the incident in 2016, indicating the tangled web of legal disputes surrounding the case.
