Black country singers have been around for decades. If we look into the history of country music, we will run across black country artists who have shaped the genre. Charley Pride was the first black artist to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. In 2020 he received Country Music Association’s Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. Linda Martell was the first black woman to make the country charts which paved the way for many other black country singers.

Many people declared that there were a lot of black country artists that people have slept on. Tony Evans Jr., Jimmie Allen, Mickey Guyton (pictured above) are just a few of those Black Country artists who have been making a name for themselves the last few years.
