With everything going on in recent politics, LGBTQIA+ rights are in jeopardy. In many ways, the history is being erased. After coming so far, it is devastating to see how quickly we as a country are taking steps backwards. We must do what we can to support those individuals who have found happiness in their way of life. So instead of focusing on the political landscape, we’re choosing to spread awareness. We’re highlighting seven Black transgender influencers that add to the community.
Being transgender means identifying as a gender that does not match the one one was assigned at birth. This includes people who identify as the opposite of what they were assigned (example: born male, identifies as a woman), but this also includes anyone who identifies as something in the middle (example: born female, identifies as non-binary).
