The iconic pair have reunited to create a 23-track megamix called The Mix Before Tha VI, which is exclusively available on Apple Music, just in time for Lil Wayne’s eagerly awaited 14th studio album, Tha Carter VI.
Mannie Fresh claims that this celebrates Lil Wayne’s impact on rap, not just a mixtape. Fresh discussed his creative approach in an interview with Apple Music: “Because Wayne is so crucial to rap, I always begin Wayne projects or songs as if it were my final day.”
Additionally, he praised Wayne’s artistic abilities. He said, “He is also a true rap-rock star. Fresh, who is renowned for his inventive mixing and lively production style, designed the set from the viewpoints of both fans and DJs…Everything he works on inspires me to work harder.”

Lil Wayne Celebrates Tha Carter VI With Major Tour and NYC Event
On Friday, June 6, Lil Wayne will commemorate the release of his new album, Tha Carter VI, and the 20th anniversary of his Tha Carter series by embarking on a summer tour across North America.
Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington will open all shows, while NoCap will join on a few of them. The performances start on July 30 in Bristow, Virginia, and go through October 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The tour will feature performances on August 2 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and August 3 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.
Before the tour kicks off, Lil Wayne will headline a major album release event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, June 6. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. local, with various presales beginning Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. local.
