Social media erupted with mixed reactions to the announcement that Bad Bunny would be the Super Bowl halftime show. Following an official announcement, Bad Bunny is set to headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, popularly known as Bad Bunny, is set to make his second Super Bowl appearance in February 2026. During his first time at the Super Bowl, he came as a guest artist alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez in the 2020 halftime show.
The artist has been under criticism for his first concert residence called No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí (translation I Don’t Want To Leave Here), in support of his sixth studio album Debí Tirar Más Fotos (2025), which was held in Puerto Rico. The artist addressed why his reasons were not out of hate for the US. He defended, “there were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate.”
Furthermore, he asserts that omitting the USA is a way of protecting his fans from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. He added, “Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world… Like, f**kng ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” Jay-Z said, supporting Bad Bunny super bowl halftime announcement despite the backlash. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.” Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California is going to be the location of the Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX performance, which is planned to take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Barack Obama’s best friend Jay-Z runs the Super Bowl selection process through his company Roc Nation which has an exclusive contract with the NFL. This is who chooses the halftime show, the most-watched musical performance in America

I have not seen a single person who wants Bad Bunny to perform at the Super Bowl.
It’s actually hilarious.

Just going to predict this right now: After the NFL caves and pulls Bad Bunny from the Super Bowl due to overwhelming backlash (he’s vehemently pro-open borders and anti-ICE), legacy media and Democrats will turn him into the next Jimmy Kimmel. Guaranteed.
