Harlem rapper Max B has been making headlines ever since his release from prison after being locked up for about 16 years behind bars for multiple charges. However, the Wave is free and was welcomed back by loyal fans and celebrities.

Max B, legally known as Charly Wingate, got into legal trouble following his involvement in a robbery that happened in New Jersey in 2006. The Wavy Crockett artist said, “I can’t wait to get in the studio. There’s a lot of artists out there, too many to name. I’m looking forward to working with the big names, the head honchos… But they gotta be A-list. If the s—t ain’t A-list, I can’t f—k with it.”

He was originally sentenced to 75 years’ imprisonment for multiple charges. However, in 2016, he accepted a plea bargain where he pleaded guilty and cooperated with authorities for a lesser charge. The rapper finally accepted a plea deal for manslaughter that caused a reduction in his sentence. He was given a 20-year sentence with July 1, 2029, as his new release date.

His cousin, Kelvin Leerdam, was also convicted and sentenced to life in prison and an additional 35 years for shooting another victim.

Meanwhile, he proposed to his girlfriend, who had stayed beside him through the ups and downs life had thrown his way, over a private dinner. Only a day after being released, he surprised his new fiancée with a gorgeous diamond ring as a reminder of his promise of forever. Although the two were already married while he was in prison.
