Cosmetic surgery has become increasingly popular among celebrities in recent years, despite the associated risks. However, some stars admit that they regret the BBL surgery choices.
The Brazilian Butt Lift, commonly known as BBL, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that enhances the size and shape of the buttocks. It works by transferring fat from other areas of the body to the butt.
BBL surgery side effects range from common issues like pain, bruising, swelling, and scarring to more serious and potentially life-threatening complications such as fat embolism, infection, and tissue death. Other risks could include uneven results, lumps, asymmetry, and changes in skin sensation.

Cardi shared that she regrets her illegal silicone injections, especially as BBL procedures have health complications. In 2022, she underwent BBL surgery reversal, ended up removing 95 percent of her biopolymer buttocks injections.
“All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, …and you be like, ‘OMG, I don’t have enough fat to put in my ass,’ so you resort to ass shots—don’t,” She said. She encouraged fans to listen to medical advice regarding the procedure.
Nicki Minaj
The Starships rapper has admitted to trying cosmetic surgery to enhance her physique, through things like BBL injections, breast augmentation, and breast reduction. Nicki shared that her changes were due to pressure to fit the music industry on the Joe Budden Podcast.
Minaj added, “I guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, you’re going to—more than likely, not definitely, more than likely—look back one day and say, ‘I was fine just the way I was,.”
SZA
In November 2024, the R&B star told Vogue UK that she regrets her decision for a Brazilian butt lift. While the singer is not totally against cosmetic surgery in general, SZA confessed to regretting BBL surgery. “It was just so stupid. But who gives a f**k? You got a BBL, you realize you didn’t need the s**t,” she disclosed.
