Raekwon Premieres New Track “This Is What It Comes Too” Off Forthcoming Album, ‘The Wild’
Raekwon celebrated his 47th birthday last month by dropping some pretty exciting news: the release of another album. The Wu-Tang Clan MC gave fans the artwork and title for his new album, The Wild. Following the release of his 2015 project Fly International Luxurious Art.
“Here you go YALL. My 7th masterpiece ….this LP is filled with a lot of excitement ….blood sweat and tears,” the Chef wrote on Instagram when he unveiled the artwork and title. “This project was designed for the culture of rap to know aint a dam thing change since the beginning of my career. The title is called ” THE WILD…! this title rolled off my tongue like alkaline water in the bloodstream. I must say YALL GON LOVE THIS CLASSIC. !!!”
This week, Raekwon has given us a taste of what’s to come from the new album, with “This Is What It Comes Too.” From the very beginning, you’re hit with that classic boom-bap sound. Rae comes on the mic and does his thing as effortlessly as he always does. This gritty beat is produced by Xtreme, and is perfect for the Chef laying down lyrics about his street life and this “concrete jungle.”
