TikToker Says She’s the Secret Daughter of Aaliyah and R. Kelly

The internet continues to prove that it’s (indeed) a very, very wild place. A woman on TikTok is alleging that she’s the daughter of Aaliyah and R. Kelly!

Last week, an aspiring influencer by the social handle of IamLagenaGold took to the short-form video platform to make an announcement that has since gone viral.

According to Gold, her biological name is Love, and she’s the hidden child of the two illustrious singers who’s now ready to “tell her truth.”

“I am the biological daughter of Aaliyah Haughton and Robert Kelly,” the young lady started off in the clip. “I just want to tell my truth and tell, also, my mother’s truth. Because I feel like it’s time and it’s needed.”

Allegedly, Aaliyah and R. Kelly were (seemingly) afraid of what the media would think of their frowned-upon act and shipped her off to relatives to save the faces of their careers.

“I went through so many things… as far as keeping this identity and then living with different family members that was there to–” she continued, later indicating that her close ones were only stepping up to the plate for self-gain. “You know the industry. You guys know how it can get. And I just want the world to know that the best part of me [is] I am also an extension of my mother, Aaliyah Haughton.”

Although Gold claimed that her parents kept her out of the limelight, she still has a lot of respect for her late mother, Aaliyah, but as for her jailed father, R. Kelly, not so much. As previously reported, R. Kelly is currently behind bars for a number of charges that involve sexual abuse against minors.

“I’ve been shipped around,” Gold added. “As far as when I was younger… because of who my father was and what he did to [my mother] and also many other little girls around [the world]. Well, I don’t know [about] around the world, but other little girls.”

Toward the latter part of Gold’s “reveal,” she stated that she wasn’t interested in calling R. Kelly her “dad” because he abandoned her during his legal troubles and refused to offer the proper care that she, as his daughter, needed.

Following her initial video, Gold emotionally expanded on the scrutiny that she was said to have gone through during grade school. Apparently, her adolescent years were traumatizing, having to experience the shame that came with others discovering her parental background and not knowing where her mother, Aaliyah, was for a long period of time.

Gold has since accumulated over 10,000 followers, and she’s keeping the story going by breaking down several parts of her supposed (hurtful) upbringing.

If you didn’t know, R&B superstar Aaliyah was R. Kelly’s mentee at the height of her legendary run in the 1990s. However, it has been said that the pair ultimately grew intimate, a then-15-year-old Aaliyah became pregnant with Kelly’s child, and they illegally married each other. Reportedly, she had an abortion.

Over the years, there’s been a couple of people who have come forward and claimed to be the long-lost product of the controversial duo, but to our knowledge… nothing has been confirmed.

Unfortunately, on August 25, 2001, Aaliyah died in a plane crash at the tender age of 22.
