After his historical election as the nation’s first Black President, signifying what we all hoped was indicative of the United States of America finally uniting as a people and turning the page on our history of racial inequality and injustices, the Right Wing, the Limbaughs, the Becks, the Palins and Bachmans, the Knights of the Klux Klux Klan, the Tea Party and their followers, militia groups, skin heads, Neo Nazis, Fox News and other members of the racially biased national media, were all co-conspirators and should be charged as such, in the alleged assassination of President Barak Obama. Politically, that is.
This has to go down as one of the most perfectly executed tactical plan in the history of American politics. How did the GOP pull it off? Let’s start with their control of the most powerful weapon known to man: information. He who controls the dissemination of information controls the people. Period! Fox News openly pushes the GOP ideology and other news outfits at the national level assist in marketing GOP candidates and their policies. Last I checked 91% of the talk radio airwaves are dominated by the conservative right wing and the fringe right of the Republican Party. From local personalities in small markets to nationally syndicated personalities in the larger markets, they are part of a fully funded network with three primary goals.
First, they want to convince White Americans that minorities are going to take over the country and seek revenge for all the wrong perpetrated against them by the White establishment over the years. Second, they want to destroy any chance of this country uniting. They embrace the separate and not equal approach to governing which will continue to grow the gap between the rich and the poor, Whites and minorities, Christians and people of other faith. Third, they are on a mission to destroy Barak Obama by any means necessary. Whether it’s one lie after another or one misleading story reported after another, the reality is that they don’t even have to be masterful at manipulating information disseminated to the American people. The American people are not that smart to begin with and yes the co-conspirators know this.
The con-job perpetrated was made easy given this nation’s history of devaluing Black males. President Obama’s word means nothing. It’s an easy sell that this “Black man” Obama is not one of us. This “Black man” Obama can’t be trusted. This “Black man” Obama is “one of them.” Another way to accomplish their goal of destroying Obama is to get in bed with the financial sector to ensure lines of credit remain frozen to keep small businesses from accessing funds needed to grow their company and hire more Americans. This kept the unemployment rate over 9% through the midterm election and will possibly continue into the 2012 Presidential election. Homebuyers aren’t able to get loans to buy homes on the market at bargain basement prices. But watch what happens if the Republicans are successful in taking back the White House in 2012. Credit lines will be open and money will rain from the heavens. Unemployment will drop and there will be a big boom in new homes sales. And who do you think will be credited? This is all part of a well executed hit that took place in broad day light with millions of witnesses.
At a time when our country teetered on disaster thanks to the failed policies of the Bush administration and the thugs on Wall Street, one would think that the people of this nation regardless of race or political affiliation would rally behind its President and Commander-In-Chief as every effort is being made to get the country back on track. How soon we forget the fact that the country was losing jobs at a rate of 750,000 a month when President Obama took office. We have been gaining new jobs for the past 14 months. In its first two years, this administration has accomplished more legislatively than other administrations in two terms. But in lieu of a pat on the back, this President takes shots to the back. And why you ask? For passing Healthcare Reform? No. For passing Financial Reform? No. For passing a stimulus package? No. For extending Pell Grants for college students? No. For jumpstarting the green economy? No. For bringing an end to the war in Iraq? No. For breathing life back into the big three auto makers? No. Unfortunately, President Obama represents progress and he has committed the ultimate crime in the eyes of the co-conspirators of this political assassination: being an educated Black man with the audacity to occupy the White House.
