Another couple bites the dust. According to TMZ, Monica and Shannon Brown have decided to end their 9 year relationship. The couple got married back in 2010 and they have a 5 year old daughter together named Laiyah. The Monica and Shannon Brown divorce is now official it seems.
R&B singer Monica has praised her husband over her last few years on her albums for being a great husband and a father, but seems that isn’t enough. Shannon Brown is famous for being an ex-NBA player. He played for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers among other landing spots. Shannon has been out of the NBA since 2014. He has played in the G-League for a couple seasons since, but has never been able to make it back to the league.
Prior to dating Shannon Brown, Monica dated Atlanta bred rapper Rocko. They have two children together as well.
The singer’s ring finger has been bare since February on Instagram and now we know why. Monica apparently filed for divorce back in March.

Monica has changed her name on social media to @MonicaDenise, now going with her middle name. Her maiden name is Monica Arnold.
The Monica and Shannon Brown divorce was finalized on October 22nd at a court hearing in Fayetteville, Georgia. Monica, 38 and Shannon, 33, seem to still be at least somewhat amicable on social media.
