Amidst the ongoing drama that has followed since the night of the Oscars, an old video clip from the Red Table Talk has resurfaced with a shocking revelation from Jada Pinkett Smith. In the clip Jada Pinkett admits not wanting to marry Will Smith. It goes on to reveal that Jada cried at her wedding.

Since the night of the infamous slap at the Oscars, a lot has gone down, especially for 53-year-old Will Smith. The famous actor walked to the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife’s baldness which she has apparently spoken about in the past as it being a health condition called “alopecia.”

This singular event has set off a chain of additional events in the life of the actor. For one, he has been banned from attending the Oscars award ceremony for ten years, either virtually or physically, and studios such as Sony and Netflix are pausing their ongoing projects with the actor.

The video from a 2018 episode of the Red Table Talk resurfaced shortly after the banning of Will Smith and fans are re-analyzing the whole situation. The clip featured the actor himself, their daughter Willow, Adrienne Banfield Norris who is Jada’s mother and Jada Pinkett-Smith who goes ahead to say: “I really didn’t want to get married.”

“We only got married because Gammy was crying,” Will contributed. Jada then went on to talk about how she was under so much pressure as a young actress and didn’t know what to do. According to her, she knew that she never wanted to be married.

“I don’t remember that, I remember feeling very strongly and wanting you guys to be married, I do remember that but I don’t remember your rejection of the idea of marriage, I remember the rejection of the idea of a wedding” Adrienne said.

Adrienne went on in the episode of Red Table Talk to apologize for not respecting her daughter’s wishes as she wanted to have the experience of having her only daughter get married.

More recently, according to reports, Jada has communicated that she wishes her husband didn’t lay hands on Rock.
