Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, recently sparked one of their neighbors to draw up a petition for the couple to move out of the neighborhood — question is, why though?
The “Super Bass” hitmaker is the subject of a petition initiated by her neighbors, who want the celebrity to vacate her Hidden Hills property due to security issues brought on by the status of her spouse as a sex offender.
When Nicki Minaj and her husband bought the $19.5 million house in December 2022, local resident Beverly Bardan decided to take action and launch a Change.org petition with the slogan “SAY NO TO SEX OFFENDERS IN HIDDEN HILLS.”
Concerning Petty, Bardan’s petition asserts that there is a “high likelihood” that he will commit new crimes and that just having him around will decrease the value of nearby properties.

“Kenneth Petty is a level 3 sex offender, convicted for the attempted rape of a 16 year old girl, and has a high likelihood to reoffend. He was also found guilty for killing a man. He is currently under house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender in California as law demands it,” reads the petition.
“The Petty couple moving in would lead to appraisal value of our homes to go DOWN due to safety concerns. It would lead to children and women being a target.”
The petition furthers: “We, the residents of Hidden Hills, must put our resident’s safety first. Don’t wait to receive a letter from the government saying a predator has moved in near you. DO NOT allow this dangerous sex offender to live near you, SHOW that you are against sex offenders in our Hidden Hills neighborhood!”
Minaj’s husband and Papa Bear‘s father, Kenneth Petty, was 16 when he was found guilty of first-degree attempted rape in 1995. In the end, he was imprisoned for more than four years.
