A photo purportedly featuring Osama Bin Laden and Tupac Shakur went viral recently.

A user from X (formerly Twitter) added the caption to the picture, “never forget when tupac linked up with osama bin laden.”

According to the findings of a reverse image search, the photo of the late rapper and terrorist had been shared hundreds of times, at least since 2008.

A 9GAG caption presented the pic as evidence for a conspiracy theory that said Osama bin Laden and Tupac Shakur were still alive, saying: “Osama is not dead. He’s just chilling with 2pac in Cuba.” One YouTube user expressed in the description, “Tupac and Osama Bin Laden….. ALIVE!!!!!!”

Furthermore, there was discrepancy in the image’s captions concerning the purported date of capture. One person on social media stated, “President Obama shaking on peace between Al-Qaeda and the USA with α very much alive Bin Laden, 2009 colorized.”

Social media users have highlighted the photo’s purported geographical inconsistency as well.

One Reddit user, for example, claimed that the picture depicted “Tupac and Bin Laden prior to their flight to Buenos Aires.” Even the possibility that the pic was created by AI was raised by certain social media users.

Furthermore, there were some 2011 publications on this exact image that stated it was manipulated. They did not, however, offer a conclusive example.

The men’s heights were brought out in some comments, emphasizing that “Bin Laden was at least 10 inches taller than Tupac.”

The Al-Qaeda leader’s height was assessed at 6 feet, 4 inches, whereas the “Hail Mary” rapper’s estimated height ranged from 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches

If the two men were indeed standing by one another on a level surface, the noticeable difference in height should be apparent.
