ScHoolboy Q has finally returned with a new album. Although its just short of 3 years, it feels like a long time coming for this new ScHoolboy Q CrasH Talk album. Back in July of 2016 he released his fourth album, Blank Face and then seemingly fell back, while we got releases from Kendrick, Jay Rock, Sza and more.
ScHoolboy recently revealed in a GQ interview that he had scrapped 2 albums worth of material. “He briefly concluded was ready for consumption before labelmates Kendrick and Jay Rock convinced him it wasn’t. Darkness set in.”
He later revealed what it was that got him out of a deep funk.
“It was ultimately golf that parted the psychic clouds, allowing him to lighten up and make the music that he actually wanted to make. Cue Crash Talk.”
ScHoolboy recently revealed the third single from the album, “Crash”, the follow-up from previous singles, “Numb Numb Juice” and “Chopstix” featuring Travis Scott.
