Looks like the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion drama has unfolded into the next level. On Thursday, Oct. 8th, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office released a statement in regards to charging Tory Lanez aka Daystar Perterson in the shooting assault of Megan Pete aka Megan Thee Stallion.
The news of the Tory Lanez charges were released in tweet by New York Times reporter Joe Coscarelli.

According to the release, Lanez will be charged with “one felony count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm – personal use of a firearm – and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. [Lanez] also faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.” He was originally only charged with carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
It should be noted that these are just charges. Since this is a criminal case, the Tory Lanez charges had to come from the District Attorney’s office and not directly from Megan. Tory will still need to stand trial, unless he takes a plea deal.
While Tory Lanez has already pleaded his innocence in the form of his recently released album, Daystar, we won’t get an actual defense or any other facts from the incident until this goes to trial, if it goes to trial.
If convicted as charged, Tory Lanez faces a possible maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison.
The statement continues, “On July 12, the defendant and the 24-year-old victim got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. The victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her.”
Tory Lanez will be arraigned on October 13th.
