Summer Walker and JT from the City Girls’ Video for New Single “Ex For A Reason” is Here
Just days after the release of Summer Walker‘s latest single, “Ex For A Reason,” featuring JT from the City Girls, the Atlanta-bred singer has premiered the official video!
Written by the legendary Sean Garrett, “Ex For A Reason” is one of the leading tracks off of Walker’s forthcoming sophomore album, Still Over It, which is set to make its musical entrance on November 5th.
In the song, Walker opens with her melodic vocals riding a fun, fast-paced beat, while JT later joins in with her unapologetic wordplay that we all can’t get enough of.
“Ain’t no competin’ when it come to spendin’ time with me (No way, oh). ‘Cause I’ma say the shit she won’t say (Say). Even get up in your face with it,” Walker sings on the bridge. “Them and me are different, it ain’t no ultimatum, no (Zero tolerance). It’s zero tolerance with anything fuckin’ with mine.”
The well over four-minute visual captures Walker and her girls speeding in an old-school vehicle through the streets of Atlanta. Minutes into the clip, they end up attending a house party. The video also features appearances from a few social media phenomenons, including comedian Desi Banks and YouTuber De’arra Taylor.
Since the unveiling of her Life on Earth EP last year, Summer Walker has been seemingly focusing her time on adjusting to mommyhood. The 25-year-old gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this past March.
However, her soon come full-length project, Still Over It, has fans in a frenzy, excited to hear what she’s been working on in the booth. Walker announced the news of her second album on October 4th, via Instagram, which was the two-year anniversary of her debut album, Over It. Instantly, supporters flooded the comments in anticipation.
The upcoming work is said to feature an exclusive narration from Ciara for the song, “Ciara’s Prayer.” We can’t wait to hear the other heat that Miss Summer Walker has been hiding on her hard drive!
