Atlanta Rapper Ca$h Out was indicted on rape, sex trafficking in the U.S and racketeering charges after getting caught.
Ca$h Out (real name John Michael Hakeem Gibson) has now been arrested on 41 counts from Fulton County. Popularly known as the artist behind the songs, “Cashin’ Out” and “She Twerkin”, the rapper might be spending some time in jail.
He and about five other individuals are charged with 41 counts in total, with Atlanta Rapper Ca$h Out indicted on 13 of them, including racketeering, aggravated sodomy, sex trafficking, and rape.
He was also accused of running a prostitution ring out of a residence in Atlanta, however, a few of the crimes were conducted in a nearby hotel and a home in the city’s Carroll Heights neighbourhood.
“The most troubling aspect of this case is that women have been victimized and brutalized within our community by people who had a chance to do something else with their lives,” Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said about the case.
Gibson hoped to lure female prostitutes with celebrity status, as well as develop spies on their tracks along the way. Another Fulton County prosecutor, spokesman Earnell Winfrey described Gibson as was viewed by many as the “figurehead of the group” of people accused of committing crimes.
“He’s accused … of whipping a young lady who’s a sex worker, and this was one of the girls that he had recruited,” Winfrey said.
Police revealed that they were able to free two sex workers from the rapper’s hands. Gibson initially pleaded not guilty to the allegations, however, he hasn’t answered to the new racketeering charges.
However, Ca$h Out took to Instagram a couple of hours later and posted a message with the hashtag #FREECASHOUT
According to Earnelle Winfrey, Ca$h Out will be facing 25-to-life in prison if he’s convicted.
