At this year’s 2022 BET Awards, Nigerian artists Tems received the award for Best International Act. Did you know, in 2019, that award went to none other than Nigeria’s Burna Boy? Fans of the award-winning artist Burna Boy are patiently waiting for him to drop his highly anticipated sixth studio album Love, Damini.

Damini Ogulu, known to his fans as Burna Boy, was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on July 02, 1991. He started to get noticed in 2012 after releasing “Like to Party”, the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E in 2013.

In 2017, Burna Boy signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the United States and Warner Music Group internationally. His third studio album Outside, marked his major-label debut and helped him win the BET Award for Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards. At that time, he was also announced as an Apple Music Up Next artist.

Burna’s fourth studio album African Giant was released in July of 2019, and it won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for a Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. He was also awarded the African Artist of the year at the 2020 VGMA‘s. In 2020, his fifth studio album, Twice as Tall, was nominated for the same category at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, making him the first Nigerian with back-to-back nominations at the Grammys. In 2021, Twice as Tall won the Best World Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

With so many awards and accolades under his belt, Burna Boy’s new album Love, Damini is sure to give what it is supposed to give! The album carried a release date of July 01, 2022, that changed to July 02, 2022, Burna’s birthday. The album is delayed with an expected release date of July 08, 2022, which was confirmed by guest artist on the album Ed Sheeran.

He and Burna Boy performed a song from the album at Wembley Stadium on June 30, 2022, in which Ed Sheeran made the announcement.
