Beyoncé‘s Renaissance album is here!

Six years after the controversial release of Lemonade, the celebrated songstress has returned with her seventh studio project.

Following her disco-themed single, “Break My Soul,” Beyoncé unveiled the official drop date and cover art to Renaissance, also known as Act I: Renaissance, back in June.

The announcement completely broke the internet, leaving tons of #Beyhive members buzzing about the forthcoming event as they waited in anticipation.

Ahead of the full length’s debut, Beyoncé made a statement on her website, letting her supporters in on the creative process behind Renaissance.

“This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative,” she wrote at the beginning of the public essay. “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”

She then went on to open up about the message that sixteen-track work held.

The iconic soloist continued with: “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”

Later in the digital letter, she paid homage to her children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir, husband, Jay-Z, mother, Mrs. Tina Lawson, and her uncle, Jonny, who she affectionately calls her Godmother.

At midnight, Renaissance officially made its way onto streaming platforms.

In addition to the emotional piece, subsequent to the album’s launch, the 40-year-old spoke on the leaking of Renaissance that took place a few days ago in Europe.

This is what they’ve had to say about the Renaissance album so far…

Break My Soul works better for me when you listen to the whole Renaissance album at once. As just a single on its own I wasn’t feeling it

— ChancelorP (@chancelor_p) July 29, 2022

Not me losing track of time and nearly missing a meeting bc I was listening to Renaissance 💀

Like the album is so different. But so so good. Every time she displays her artistry you feel the effort and the thought she puts into it. Words really don’t do it justice tbh. #RENAISSANCE

High key, #Beyonce did exactly what had to be done on ALL 16 BOPS on #RENAISSANCE… I LOVE and appreciate the effort that went into this laudatory, INTERSECTIONAL Touchstone! 😮‍💨😭👄

— Keith Chatsauka (@KayCi900) July 29, 2022

I messed with Honestly Nevermind. But it wasn’t no feeling in it for me. Which is the primary critique for me. I didn’t feel Drake’s album was soulless. It just didn’t have soul IN it. Even in the pop/house records on Renaissance, you can feel the soul in the horns and basslines

Grace Jones sounded good asf on MOVE. More please. #RENAISSANCE

— JUNGLE JULIA (@HOLYSPICE_) July 29, 2022

Let’s be real, the general public’s reaction to renaissance is very biased. The album was not that great and not even close to beyonces best. If this same album was released by anybody else y’all wouldn’t be here for it

— chocolate-dipped capitalist 💅🏾✨ (@shadowbxnned) July 29, 2022

Beyoncé proved once again that she is still light years ahead of 99% of todays artist. Production, lyrics, overall vision of Renaissance. Just perfect!

I couldn’t stay up late enough to get to summer renaissance. I’m 40. I tried and failed.

And I was in the middle of typing something just now, the beat dropped, and my body got up spontaneously like I caught the Holy Spirit. Power. #Beyonce pic.twitter.com/BsEjvM4ueX

The only good songs on renaissance are alien superstar virgo’s groove thique and heated i don’t like the rest at all-

So I’m on TRACK 4 on #RENAISSANCE and I must say….. this album is feeling like the PERFECT pregame club turn up playlist. I don’t even get out like that but this album makes you WANT to get cute and show OUT…… then flawlessly balances the entrancing repetition of house, easy

— MR.J-ROMΞ™ (@MrJRome) July 29, 2022

Listened to some more of #RENAISSANCE and it’s just not the album for me 😭 the first Beyonce project ever that I don’t like
