Cardi B has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges on Thursday, admitting she paid a friend $5,000 to beat up a woman. The case can be traced back to 2018 when two bartenders from the Angels Strip Club in New York City accused Cardi B of ordering members of her crew to attack them for allegedly sleeping with her husband Offset.

The original indictment included 12 charges, including two felonies. The bartenders Jade and Baddie GI hired Joe Tacopina, who has represented Meek Mill to represent them in court. According to the sisters, the Invasion of Privacy rapper could be seen to be involved in the assault that led to serious injuries. Jade and Baddie Gi alleged that Cardi threw at least one champagne bottle at them during the altercation.

According to New York Post in their reports, the 29-year-old hip-hop star has been placed on a three-year order of protection and sentenced to 15 days of community service over the brawl. When asked by Queens Supreme Court Justice Michelle Johnson if the rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar understood the terms of her plea agreement, the rapper answered “Yes.”

Drew Findling, Cardi B’s lawyer said she accepted the plea deal despite rejecting the former one in 2020 in a bid to simply move on and focus on her family and career.

“There are too many things that she has planned for her family, for her career, and for the community and she just felt, quite honestly, that a three-week jury trial was going to be a distraction from the things that she felt were most important and so, hence, we made contact with the prosecution,” Drew Findling said.
