Social media responds as Caresha Please ties for Best Hip-Hop Platform Award along with Drink Champs at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards!

On October 04, 2022, BET aired its annual Hip-Hop Awards show, hosted this year by rapper Fat Joe. About a half an hour into the awards show the category for “Best Hip-Hop Platform” was announced with the nominees as follows: Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Breakfast Club, Caresha Please, Complex, Drink Champs, HipHopDX, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, NPR Tiny Desk, and Verzuz.

The winners were announced as Caresha Please and Drinks Champs as a tie, and most of social media was not feeling it! Many complained that Caresha Please has not been around long enough to be nominated much less be tied as a winner along with Drink Champs.

If you do not know by now, Caresha Please is the hottest new podcast airing on REVOLT TV hosted by none other than the female rap group City Girls’ Yung Miami, better known as “Caresha”!

In June of this year, Yung Miami joined forces with REVOLT to release the first-ever episode of the podcast with debut guest Sean “Diddy” Combs, also known as “Daddy” to Yung Miami as the two put confirmation on their dating status!

Since the first episode, “Caresha Please” has hosted guests, JT of City Girls, Latto, Saweetie and Caresha’s personal favorite, Megan Thee Stallion.

The podcast Drink Champs‘ motto is giving the hip-hop legends their flowers while they can still smell them and they have hosted a sleuth of hip-hop legends from Kanye West, Patti LaBelle, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart and many many more.

Lately, social media has chastised Drink Champs for “getting their guests drunk” to the point they begin to “snitch” on themselves and others. Hosted by rapper N.O.R.E. of Nore and Capone and DJ EFN from Dade County, the podcast has over 10 years in the game which made many feel they should have been the only winners.

BET tweeted Drink Champs acceptance speech:

And BET retweeted with the quote “PERIOD” and the nails being painted emoji!

This says it all about the BET AWARDS. It doesn’t represent Black culture. What Happened to MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF GAME? And Caresha Please? Are you FREAKING SERIOUS? EVERYONE but the Black American Male right?

— Sk Deniro (@SKDeniro) October 5, 2022

Caresha Please is a great show! Great concept not gone lie but then politics is politicking! How nice it must be to be a billionaire and connected. Diddy don’t quit lol
