DL Hughley, a longtime friend of The Neighborhood star Cedric the Entertainer, will appear as a special guest on May 22’s episode of the CBS television program.
They were part of the legendary Original Kings of Comedy, which also included the late great Bernie Mac and Steve Harvey, as fans of both comedians might remember.
Hughley’s casting has also been revealed, and the images in this column give you an exclusive first look at his presence in the show’s finale.
Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer), in the series finale episode “Welcome to Opening Night,” pressures Marty (Marcel Spears) to hasten the opening of their new company in order to secure a crucial celebrity endorsement from D.L. Hughley, who is portraying a fictionalized version of himself. While Lamar (guest actor Kevin Pollak) returns, Dave (Max Greenfield) is still having trouble dealing with it. And prior to the premiere of their brand-new school play, Tina (Tichina Arnold) and Gemma (Beth Behrs) get everything ready.

Hughley and Calvin appear together in the shots of the episode, sitting next to each other as they take the stage, and Marty and Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney), who are working to market the company, help to emphasize both Hughley and their father Calvin.
The Neighborhood will return after this Season 5 finale, viewers can rest assured. It was revealed in January that the comedy would return for a sixth season in the 2023–2024 TV season, so viewers will have to wait and tune in to see what happens.
