The Freshman Class, a yearly ranking of emerging hip hop stars, has been released by XXL for 2023.

In this year’s edition, you’ll find TiaCorine, Lola Brooke, Finesse2Tymes, Rob49, Fridayy, 2Rare, Central Cee, SleazyWorld Go, Luh Tyler, Real Boston Richey, DC the Don, and Glorilla.

Glorilla, a newcomer from Memphis, became well-known in 2022 thanks to “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).” After releasing the Hitkidd collab last year in April, the rap sensation has rocked the stage at the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and BET Hip Hop Awards. In the Best Rap Performance category, she was also nominated for a Grammy.

Last year, Lola Brooke from Brooklyn had her breakthrough with “Don’t Play with It.” She followed up the popular tune with “On My Mind,” “Dummy Ummy,” “Just Relax,” “So Disrespectful,” “Here I Come,” and other songs. Together with Team Eighty Productions, she then inked a deal with Arista Records.

Philadelphia native Fridayy, who’s signed to Def Jam Recordings, gained notoriety after contributing to Lil Baby’s “Forever” and DJ Khaled’s “God Did.” The latter resulted in three Grammy nods for Fridayy.

Rapper Rob49 from New Orleans just released his brand-new album, 4God II, via Geffen Records and Rebel Music. DaBaby, Trippie Redd, G Herbo, Roddy Ricch, Icewear Vezzo, YTB Fatt, NoCap, and Birdman are all featured on the full-length.

TiaCorine, a musician from North Carolina, achieved success with her song “Freaky T.” Latto was most recently brought on board by her for a fresh remix of the song. She recently did an interview that gave an exclusive inside look into her now hectic, exhilarating life as a rap star.
