Atlanta bred rapper, Clifford Harris, professionally known as T.I. is well-known for his music. He has made multiple memorable songs including “Live Your Life” (2008), “Whatever You Like” (2008), “About the Money” (2014), and many more over a career that spans over two decades. However, he is also a talented actor, and stand up comedian who has starred in multiple popular movies. And after years of practice and growth, his acting talent may be equal to his musical talent. ATL (2006)
T.I.’s breakout role was in a role he was born to star in. Written by Antwone Fisher and directed by music video director Chris Robinson in his major feature debut, ATL is about a group of teens from Atlanta who are surrounded by Hip-Hop music and constantly hang out at the roller skating rink near where they live. They are all excited for the things that’ll happen when they graduate high school, but they all start facing their own battles and hardships as they get older. The movie is considered a heartfelt comedy and also stars Lauren London, Big Boi and many more. T.I. stars as Rashad.
A sequel to the film, ATL 2 has been in the works for a number of years. It’s yet to be seen if an official release ever happens.
Get Hard (2015)
‘Get Hard’ is a comedy about a rich man who is going to get arrested for fraud. The judge gave him a month to get himself situated before going to jail, but he knew he would not make it in there. He turned to Darnell in desperation, who ironically had never been in trouble with the law before. The two of them go through a lot in this movie, but it is considered to be satirical and ironic. Kevin Hart and Edwina Findley also play in this movie, and TI plays Russel.
American Gangster (2007)
‘American Gangster’ is about a drug dealer who gains power rivaling even the most powerful mafia families in New York during the 1970s. On the contrary, a cop is determined to take him down, as he is considered “the most dangerous man walking the streets.” The movie is considered a thriller and also stars Denzel Washington and Idris Elba. TI plays as the character Stevie Lucas.
Takers (2010)
Takers is a thriller about a group of friends who live an expensive lifestyle that they fund by robbing banks. For their next job, one of their associates comes up with the idea to rob an armed car with a large sum of money. The money was too much to resist, so they go for it. However, they run into a Russian mob who is determined to take them down. Other actors in the movie include Idris Elba and Marianne-Jean Baptiste. T.I. stars as Ghost.
Identity Thief (2013)
Identity Thief is about a woman who steals a rich man’s identity and buys whatever she wants. She got all she wanted for free with this man’s money. The man has a week to track her down before he’s in real trouble, so he goes to confront her so he can fix his credit and hopefully clear his name in the process. Other cast members include Melissa McCarthy and Morris Chestnut. TI plays the character Julian.
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
Ant-Man and the Wasp is about a father struggling to balance being a father and a superhero at the same time. Eventually, he needed to fight again, this time with Wasp. This uncovers a lot of lore between the two and comes to a head with a new villain. It is considered an action movie, and some other actors in it include Laurence Fishburn and Paul Rudd. TI plays the character Dave.
Monster Hunter (2020)
Monster Hunter is about a group of soldiers who were transported to another world. In this world, they constantly have to fight for their lives against new and very strong enemies. They meet a hunter who found a way back to their world and eventually teamed up with him to survive and get out. It is considered an action movie, and some other cast members include Meagan Good and Tony Jaa. TI plays as the character Link.
Sleepless (2017)
Sleepless was actually a pretty underrated hit movie starring Jamie Foxx and Gabrielle Union. T.I. has a pretty prominent role as Sean Cass in this action movie about a police officer (Foxx) who realizes that he has to deal with dangerous gangsters and corrupt cops. After his teenage son gets kidnapped the officer is in a race against time to get him back.
Fear (2023)
‘Fear’ is a horror mystery movie about a group of friends who went on vacation. However, the vacation goes bad fast when each member of the friend group is forced to encounter their worst fears. The movie is described as terrifying and horrific, and other cast members include King Bach and Annie Ilonzeh. TI plays the character Lou.
Entourage (2015)
Based on the television series of the same name, the Entourage movie highlights a movie star who gets a phone call from his former agent. The agent now runs a famous studio, and he offers the star a major role in an upcoming movie. However, the actor also wants to direct the movie, and the former agent doesn’t agree to that. After major conflict and the movie going over budget, they have to find a way to sort things out. Other cast members in the movie include Adrian Grenier and Kevin Connolly. T.I. stars as himself in the movie.
