Drake is rounded up in a lawsuit accusing him of promoting illegal gambling with Stake. The Canadian rapper has always been an advocate of online gambling and sharing some updates on his bets; however, it might be serious trouble for misleading a fan.

In a recent lawsuit, a Missouri man is suing three parties, including the rapper Drake, for promoting illegal gambling activities. The plaintiff is claiming that he was misled and lost a huge sum of money after being deceived by Drake, who is involved in a fraudulent gambling scheme. Online influencer Adin Ross and Stake are also mentioned as defendants in the lawsuit against Drake.

Stake is a cryptocurrency-based betting platform that accepts online casino and sports bets. It owes a part of its success to paid brand endorsements:

In 2022, Drake and Stake entered a partnership worth $100M annually, making the rapper their brand ambassador. “Drake on Stake” was a part of the deal where the rapper showed his gambling sessions at live-streaming events. He also posted bets and wins from actively using the platform.

Drake is known for his online betting and gambling, spending millions between 2021 and 2022 alone.

While his entire winnings cannot be calculated as it is not public, his biggest win was a night of roulette in January 2024. From a night at Dave & Buster’s, he made about $40 million.

The rapper, who has been on Stake since December 2021, has wagered about $1 billion on the platform between 2021 and 2022.

What are Drake and Stake accused of in this gambling lawsuit?

Filed in the county of Missouri, Justin Killham is accusing Drake and Stake of being involved in a fraudulent gambling lawsuit. The details of the lawsuit include Stake operating without a license, as well as the use of influencers Ross and Drake for PR purposes to entice youths to the platform.

Marisa Darden added, “The civil complaint here is for violations of Missouri gambling law and other typical civil remedies that may or may not be influenced by how many people have access to it or how Drake goes about advertising the product.”

In addition, Stake was a platform for fraudulent activities, with “Stake Cash,” a separate currency used for real wagers, as a cover-up for gambling.

Has Drake ever lost a bet?

Drake has placed bets on various athletes from the UFC, NBA, NFL, and the US Open. He placed a bet on Israel Adesanya, Francis Ngannou, Taylor Fritz, Sinner, and Gervonta Davis, among others. From sports bets to casino games, Drake has reportedly placed bets worth about $125 million in June 2025. He had reportedly lost over $8 million that month.
