Starz announced that the popular series ‘Power’ is getting a prequel titled ‘Power: Origins’. The new prequel series, Origins, will be the next spinoff to join the other three spinoffs of the drama series, ‘Power’.
The first spinoff, ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ follows the character Ghost, ending at 4 seasons. “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” the second Power spinoff, follows the crime life of Kanan Stark. Season 4 finale aired on May 16, 2025, and subsequently, Season 5 was announced, stating it would be the final season. “Power Book IV: Force” is currently airing its third and final season, with the final episode scheduled to be on January 16, 2026.
The origin story is centered on Ghost and Tommy and will be an 18-episode series. The president of original programming for Starz, Kathryn Busby, said, “Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origin story since we first met them in ‘Power’ — and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way.”
The cast of Power: Origins, the Starz new drama filled series includes Spence Moore as Ghost, Charlie Mann as Tommy, and Mekai Curtis as Kanan Stark, Armani Gabriel as J-Boogs and Lizzy DeClement. Others include Lenny Platt, Everett Osborne, and Jason Dirden.

Spence Moore as Ghost
Moore started off in 2018 with a TV series. The 27 year old St. Louis, Missouri native has been making a name for himself over the last few years on a number of sitcoms. He joined the cast of the CW drama ‘All-American’, ABC’s ‘The Wonder Years’ reboot and NBC’s medical drama ‘Brilliant Mind’s in 2024. Additionally, he acted as a Big Boy in ‘Grown-ish’ between 2022 and 2023. He is currently a father to a young boy, whom he shares with Samantha Cimarelli.

Charlie Mann as Tommy
Charlie Mann will play Tommy, previously played by Joseph Sikora, in the “Power” franchise. Back in February, he was a regular cast member of the series, ‘Virdee’ on BBC iPlayer.
The actor is starring in BBC’s new series Crookhaven. Appearing as Edgar, Charlie will play a high school student trying to uncover the dark secrets of Crookhaven.
MeKai Curtis as Kanan Stark
Curtis grew up in New Jersey and played his first significant role in the 2014 Disney comedy series Kirby Buckets. In 2021, he was cast in 40 episodes of Rising Kanan as a main character. The 26-year-old played Young 50 Cent and is set to play him in the new Origin series.
Jennifer Ferrin as Kate Egan
Ferrin started her career leading plays in high school and went on to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of North Carolina. The breakout role that made her a popular face was on ‘ As the World Turns’, earning her a double nomination at the 33rd annual Daytime Emmy Award. For over a decade, she has been married to her lover, Zachary Bliss. She will take the role of Tommy’s mother in the new Starz prequel Power series.
Armani Gabriel as J-Boogs
Gabriel grew up in the USA but is also of Hispanic heritage. He has dual American and Cuban nationality. The 6-foot-tall actor is currently 22 years old. He pursued his interest in acting academically, getting a degree from Pace University in Acting for Film, Television, Voiceover, and Commercial (FTVC). When he is not onscreen, he is lending his talent to creating great scripts like “The Same Bi**h”.

Everett Osborne as Omay Moreau
Osborne is to appear as a playboy, who loves the lavish lifestyle of NY. He is currently on the cast of ‘Why Did I Get Married Again’, a Tyler Perry series scheduled to air on Netflix.
Lizzy DeClement as Jill Wexler
DeClement’s character is a health practitioner who works as a nurse at Local Queens Hospital. Also, she acts as a love interest to the main character, Tommy.
