Offset, whose birth name is Kiara Kendrell Cephus, has quickly made a name for himself in the rap game. However, the path did not always come easy for the Atlanta born musician.
He is most well known as one of the members of the hit group Migos, alongside his childhood friend Quavo and Quavo’s nephew the late Takeoff who was gunned down at the age of 28 in 2022.
Offset was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia and connected with Quavo when they were both in school. They were a big part of the Atlanta trap music explosion in the 2010s and paved the way for many young artists coming up today.
Their big hit came in 2013 with their single “Versace” which Drake remixed and ultimately helped get them to the Billboard Top 100 list. From there, they dropped their debut album Yung Rich Nation in 2015, which was received well by both critics and fans. Cementing them as one of the top groups of the next decade.
After Takeoff’s tragic passing, and because of earlier turmoil in the group, the trio stopped performing together. As of present day, Offset and Quavo say it’s all love and reunited at the BET Awards in 2023 for a tribute to Takeoff.
Offset has found moderate success with solo projects, including his debut album Father of 4 which was released in 2019. His second solo album was released in 2023 called Set It Off and further established him as a talented solo act. All of his work has been well received artistically, but he has yet to match the level of commercial success he reached with Migos.
Offset & Cardi B
Outside of the studio, his love life has been very productive. Offset met Cardi B at an industry event in New York in 2016, and from there the two hit it off. The two shared their first date at the Superbowl in Houston, Texas in February of 2017. Prior to that date, the two collaborated on their first song together “Lick” which came out in January 2017.
During their tumultuous relationship, Cardi B and Offset would have three children together. Daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus born in 2018, son Wave Set Cephus born 2021, and another daughter named Blossom Cephus born in 2024. Cardi has since gone on to have another child with NFL star Stefon Diggs since she filed for divorce in July 2024. For the second time, after undoing her initial 2020 filing due to cheating.
How Many Children Does Offset Have?
In total, Offset is the father of six kids. His first son, Jordan Cephus, was born in 2009 when Offset was 18 with his ex-girlfriend Justine Watson. In 2015, he gave birth to another son, Kody Cephus with Oriel Jamie. He had another son in 2015 named Kody Cephus with Shyla L’Amour. Six children. Four baby mothers.
Offset Asks For Spousal Support
Having kids is pricey, especially when you’re Offset. Although there are no known numbers on exactly how much Offset is paying in child support, based on legal filings in his ongoing divorce proceedings with Cardi B, he’s trying to retrieve spousal support. After finding out that he requested spousal support in May of 2025, Cardi went on an expletive filled rant on X.
“You such a f–king p—y a– n—a,” she wrote.. “Word to my mother, I want you to die, but I want you to die f–king slow. When you die, I want you to die slow in the bed. And when you die, n—a, you gotta think of me.”
In court documents, Cardi alleged that she is paying $50,000 a month to support her kids. But requested no child support from Offset because she “wants to be done with this marriage.” That $50,000 figure was also before she gave birth to her fourth child.
She also requested the judge grant her primary custody of the couple’s three children. Offset filed for joint custody. The rapper alleges that he hasn’t seen their kids in quite some time.
“[Offset] is allowed to see my kids,” Cardi shared. “He stood up my kids three times. He has seen Blossom only like five times. And I’ve been trying to save your face … Stop playing.”
Offset did request a 70/30 split of the couple’s assets in order to maintain the lavish lifestyle he believes he is owed from their six year marriage.
Many fans have criticized Offset’s request and called it greedy and a clear money grab. Especially after he amended it to add spousal support when his initial filings claimed that each party would be responsible for their own legal fees.
A lot of fans have been vocal about his disrespect of Cardi B and tried to force his hand to drop spousal support requests, but Offset has yet to speak out against his critics or his soon to be ex-wife.
So while their is no clear figure on how much Offset pays in child support, one would believe that his spousal support request would help him avoid child support with this children with Cardi B. Ironically, that could increase the spousal support he has to pay to his other baby mothers.
