His team announced the Songs in the Key of Life tour early morning on September 8th, with the anticipation that his fans will show up and show out! The Stevie Wonder 2026 tour will begin this fall!
‘Songs in the Key of Life’ 50th Anniversary Tour is a Must See!
I know you’re probably asking yourself, why is everyone excited about Stevie Wonder’s tour? What could it possibly be? Well other than the legend himself performing one of his biggest albums of the century, it’s also the 50th anniversary of the album.
The history of album goes beyond that of being a fan favorite but the first album that debut number one on the Billboard making Stevie Wonder the first American artist to do so. The album itself was a turning point for his career. Before the drop of the album, Stevie did not have creative control of his artistry with Motown Records. In fact, out of the 17 albums that were dropped prior to Songs in the Key of Life, Stevie was on his way out of the door and moving out of the country to do humanitarian work in Africa. It wasn’t until Motown decided to create another contract with Stevie that gave him creative control. With the new contract, Stevie Wonder was able to create an album that brought back the love of music as well as songs that we still hear til this day. Songs like, “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Sir Duke,” “I Wish,” “Knocks Me off My Feet,” and many more were on the album that became a staple.
The entire album was crafted by Stevie, from the instruments, to the lyrics, and production. Due to having creative control, Stevie Wonder produced an album that gave real life perception and was relatable.
Songs in the Key of Life isn’t just a regular tour but it’s a family event. A place of hope, wonder and feel good music that will get you off your feet and allow your heart to heal.
What to Expect During the 2026 Tour?
It’s been two years since Stevie Wonder’s last tour, which was in late 2024. But it’s been over twenty years since his last studio album. The tour will start in October touring the UK and Europe and ending in North America in December of 2026. Tickets are on sale beginning Thursday, September 10 at 10AM ET, except Detroit which will being it’s sale on the 15th of September.
Those that attend the concert are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy or gift to support Wonder’s House Full of Toys charity benefit.
Stevie Wonder doesn’t stop at the tour, you can expect more from him in the next year. It was announced that he is working on his new studio album Through the Eyes of Wonder, which is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
