He’s a musical legend. An influential 20th-century artist. And he’s going on tour! Stevie Wonder has given the world what it didn’t know it needed. His team announced the Songs in the Key of Life tour early in the morning on September 8th, with the expectation that his fans will show up and show out! The Stevie Wonder 2026 tour will begin this fall!
‘Songs in the Key of Life’ 50th Anniversary Tour is a Must-See!
I know you’re probably asking yourself, why is everyone excited about Stevie Wonder’s tour? What could it possibly be? Well, besides the legend himself performing one of his biggest albums of the century, it’s also the album’s 50th anniversary.
The album’s history goes beyond being a fan favorite; it was the first album to debut at number one on the Billboard charts, making Stevie Wonder the first American artist to do so. The album itself was a turning point for his career. Before the album dropped, Stevie did not have creative control over his artistry with Motown Records. In fact, of the 17 albums released before Songs in the Key of Life, Stevie was on his way out the door and moving out of the country to do humanitarian work in Africa. It wasn’t until Motown signed Stevie to another contract that he gained creative control. With the new contract, Stevie Wonder created an album that brought back the love of music, along with songs we still hear today. Songs like “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Sir Duke,” “I Wish,” “Knocks Me off My Feet,” and many more were on the album that became a staple.
Stevie crafted the entire album, from the instruments to the lyrics and production. With creative control, Stevie Wonder produced an album that felt real and was relatable.
Songs in the Key of Life isn’t just a regular tour, but it’s a family event. A place of hope, wonder, and feel-good music that will get you off your feet and allow your heart to heal.
