Tyler, the Creator was the undisputed king of vinyl sales in 2023 and not only became the best-selling rapper and male artist of the year,

With an astounding 552,000 recordings sold in the US alone, Tyler is rewriting the storyline in the music industry, and the analog revival is taking center stage.

Joining Tyler in the prestigious ranks of the top 10 hip-hop vinyl sellers are other prominent names, each making a distinctive mark. Travis Scott claims the No. 4 position, boasting an impressive 474,000 albums sold. Kendrick Lamar follows closely at No. 6, with a substantial 382,000 albums contributing to the vibrant vinyl landscape.

The rapper took to X, formerly known as Twitter to express his gratitude and acknowledgement of the collective efforts that have contributed to sustaining physical media. His tweet, “thanks to you all who helps in keeping physical media alive!”

While Tyler, the Creator, shines in the hip-hop spectrum as the Vinyl 2023 best-selling rapper and male artist, Taylor Swift, a powerhouse in her own right, continues her reign as the queen of vinyl sales. Swift’s extraordinary 3.484 million albums sold secured her the No. 1 spot for the third consecutive year, exemplifying her unwavering influence and universal appeal.

When it comes to the vinyl market, the collective success of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) musicians is a celebration of variety and perseverance, regardless of the overwhelming numbers and chart places. This exemplifies their capacity to push boundaries, reimagine musical styles, and produce music that speaks to a wide range of listeners.

We acknowledge the importance of community support in preserving artists’ legacies as we celebrate Tyler, the Creator.
