DVSN, pronounced “division” is a Canadian R&B duo, consisting of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85. The duo is signed to fellow Canadian rapper Drake through his label OVO Sound. On Friday DVSN released a new track with a Jay Z cleared sample of “Song Cry”, thanks to Jermaine Dupri, called “If I Get Caught” and social media doesn’t know how to feel about it!
The biggest comment about the new “city boys” summer jam is it’s toxic! The lyrics according to DVSN are meant to be more so honest than toxic, but nevertheless, they have definitely sparked conversation. Many could not believe Jay Z cleared the sample after hearing the lyrics.

Jermaine Dupri, also known as JD, was the catalyst to the Canadian duo getting the sample to Jay Z’s “Song Cry” cleared. JD shares a text message conversation between himself and “Hov” on his Instagram page, in which Jay Z writes he did not think there could be a more toxic song than “Song Cry” itself! To which JD replies, “Is that a yes! Lol” Jay Z responds by saying, “I just want a disclaimer that says, that I said, this song is wrong! Hahaha And you’re good.”

While some Twitter users feel the song is toxic, some think it is just plain bad. They do not believe it the best work from DVSN and expected more. Others still agree the song is toxic, but they like it!
