Teyana Taylor as Dionne Warwick? We would to see it!
Although Taylor and the legendary songstress are from two totally different eras, the two are aligning and bringing it all together.
The fellow singer/actress said during her appearance on the Tamron Hall Show on Tuesday that she is “already working on” a Dionne Warwick biopic as she talked with the host about her newest movie, A Thousand and One.
Taylor stated that the biopic is currently in the building phase and added that she “always wanted to make sure I could lock in with any person that I would be playing.”
Given her close relationship with Dionne Warwick, Teyana Taylor continued by citing Jamie Foxx’s portrayal of Ray Charles in Ray (2004) and Angela Bassett‘s portrayal of Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with It (1993) as examples of biopic performances she wants to aspire to.

Teyana Taylor as Dionne Warwick — Will the Biopic Happen?
“I miss when movies were like that… when you really get to know them and tap in,” Taylor went on, including her and the singing icon “speak almost every day.”
“That’s my girl. Me, her and her son, yeah,” Taylor expressed to the host, adding she’s doing her best to help Warwick “feel as safe as possible” as the development of the forthcoming biopic is taking place.
“I’ve always been a firm believer and always just stood on safety, you know what I’m saying? She’s had a wonderful career, you know, and I think right now is about making her feel as safe as possible,” the Coming 2 America actress remarked.

Regarding her approach to the upcoming feature film, Taylor added, “To be able to tell her story — because a lot of these stories get misconstrued or extremely dramatized to an extent, and that’s not like where we really want to go.”
The “Maybe” songbird has yet to disclose a title or any other info in reference to the biopic surrounding Warwick.
